LEER Aluminum Truck Topper – Lightweight Protection for Your Pickup
Our LEER aluminum truck cap is engineered for owners who demand maximum cargo protection without the weight penalty of traditional fiberglass units. We build every topper with marine-grade aluminum extrusions and aerospace-grade fasteners, delivering a bed cover that stands up to daily abuse while keeping your payload dry and secure.
The flush-mount design integrates seamlessly with your pickup's roofline, cutting wind noise and improving highway fuel economy. We finish each unit with a durable powder coat that resists chipping, fading, and corrosion, so your topper looks factory-fresh season after season.
Aluminum construction highlights

Aluminum Construction & Corrosion Resistance
We fabricate each aluminum truck cap from extruded aluminum alloy specifically rated for marine environments. The material won’t rust, even in salt-spray conditions or when exposed to road-salt slush every winter.
Every joint is sealed with waterproof urethane adhesive before we apply the powder coat. The finish is electrostatically charged and oven-baked at 400°F, creating a bond that resists chips from gravel, branches, and car-wash brushes. We offer OEM color matches for every major truck manufacturer, so your topper looks like it rolled off the assembly line with your pickup.

Sizing, Fit & Installation
Our aluminum toppers are CNC-cut to match the bed length and cab style of your specific truck model. We manufacture dedicated units for standard cab, extended cab, and crew cab configurations in short-bed (5.5–6 ft), standard-bed (6.5–7 ft), and long-bed (8 ft) sizes.
How We Ensure a Perfect Fit
Each topper ships with model-specific clamp brackets that anchor to your bed rails without drilling. The mounting system accommodates spray-in bed liners and drop-in liners up to ¾” thick. Installation takes two people about 45 minutes using hand tools — no special equipment required. We include a complete hardware kit, installation template, and illustrated instructions with every order.
Interior Features & Cargo Access
The interior ceiling is lined with automotive-grade carpet that dampens road noise and protects delicate cargo from scrapes. We install a recessed LED dome light near the cab that runs off your truck’s 12V system — just plug the included harness into your third brake-light circuit.
Both side windows slide open on anodized aluminum tracks and include removable insect screens. The rear door features a one-hand latch with an automotive-style T-handle and integrated lock cylinder keyed to match your truck’s ignition. For models that prefer a lift-gate, we offer a hydraulic strut upgrade that holds the door open at any angle.

Aluminum Truck Cap Questions Answered
Our standard LEER aluminum topper weighs approximately 140–160 pounds, depending on bed size. An equivalent fiberglass topper typically weighs 180–220 pounds.
The weight savings improves fuel economy slightly and makes the cap easier to remove when you need full bed access. Two adults can lift an aluminum unit off without assistance.
Yes. We offer powder-coat colors matched to OEM paint codes for Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, Toyota, and Nissan trucks. When you order, provide your truck's year, make, model, and paint code — we'll mix a custom batch if your color isn't in our standard lineup.
The powder coat won't be a perfect molecular match to automotive basecoat-clearcoat, but it's close enough that most people can't tell the topper from the cab without scrutinizing in direct sunlight.
Yes. Installation requires two people, basic hand tools, and about 45 minutes. The topper arrives with pre-installed mounting clamps, a paper template to align the clamps with your bed rails, and step-by-step instructions.
You'll need a socket set, a rubber mallet to tap the clamps into position, and a helper to lift the cap onto the bed. No drilling is required — the clamps tighten down with hex bolts. If you're not comfortable with DIY installation, most truck accessory shops offer installation services for a flat fee.
Yes. Our clamp system accommodates spray-in liners, drop-in liners, and bed mats up to ¾" thick. The clamps have adjustable height settings, so you can fine-tune the fit to compress the weatherstripping evenly around the bed rail.
If you have a particularly thick liner or an aftermarket rail cap, contact our sales team before ordering — we may need to include taller mounting spacers in your hardware kit.
The triple-bulb weatherstripping creates a watertight seal when the clamps are torqued to spec (18–22 ft-lbs). After installation, inspect the gasket all the way around — it should be evenly compressed with no gaps.
If you notice water intrusion, loosen the clamps on the affected side, clean any dirt or debris from the gasket channel, and re-tighten. You can also apply a thin bead of silicone sealant along the bed rail before installing the topper for an extra moisture barrier.
Yes. We offer an optional roof-rack kit with crossbars rated for 150 pounds of evenly distributed weight. The rack mounts through reinforced inserts in the topper roof and includes locking knobs to secure kayaks, lumber, or ladder racks.
For heavy-duty contractor use, we recommend our commercial-series aluminum cap, which has a thicker roof skin and additional internal bracing to support permanent ladder racks up to 500 pounds.
We provide a three-year limited warranty on the aluminum structure and frame, covering material defects and workmanship issues. The powder-coat finish is warranted for two years against peeling, cracking, and excessive UV fading. Weatherstripping, glass, locks, and hardware carry a one-year parts warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, aftermarket modifications, improper installation, or failure to perform routine maintenance. Keep your original purchase receipt and registration card to validate warranty claims.
