Fiberglass Construction & Durability

Our Tundra camper shell starts with hand-laid fiberglass composite — the same material trusted by boat builders for its strength-to-weight ratio and weather resistance. We mold each shell in two halves, then bond them with aerospace adhesive and reinforce the seam with additional fiberglass matting.

The roof panel includes internal ribbing to prevent flex under snow load or rooftop cargo. Corner caps are double-thick fiberglass, and hinge mounts are through-bolted with stainless steel hardware. We finish every shell with a smooth gel-coat surface that resists UV fading, oxidation, and minor impacts.

Bed Fitment & Installation for Toyota Tundra Models

Model-Year Compatibility

We manufacture Tundra camper shells for every generation from 2000 to current models. Each shell is molded to match your specific bed length — 5.5-foot short bed, 6.5-foot standard bed, or 8.1-foot long bed. Mounting points align with factory bed stake pockets and tie-down locations.

Our flush-mount clamp system uses eight to twelve mounting points depending on bed length. Rubber-coated clamps grip the bed rail without drilling, and thick EPDM weather stripping seals the gap between shell and bed rail. Installation takes two people about 45 minutes with basic hand tools.

Windows, Ventilation & Interior Features

Every Tundra camper top includes tinted sliding side windows on both driver and passenger sides. Each window has a locking latch and a removable fiberglass screen for ventilation when parked. Tempered safety glass meets DOT standards and blocks 35% of solar heat.

The rear door is a full barn-door style or lift-gate depending on your preference. Both designs include a three-point locking system, integrated LED brake light wired to your Tundra’s harness, and a heavy-duty gas strut or hinge assembly. Weather seals run the full perimeter of the door frame.

Perfect fit on my 2022 Tundra
I ordered the magnetic gray shell for my Tundra and the paint match is flawless. Installation was straightforward with my brother helping. No leaks after two months of Pacific Northwest rain. The sliding windows are a huge bonus for airflow when I'm camping.

Quality construction worth the investment
I've had cheaper camper shells on previous trucks and they always cracked or faded. This ARE shell feels solid — thick fiberglass, smooth finish, and the door seals actually keep water out. Worth every penny for something that'll last.

Great for weekend camping trips
We throw a mattress in the back and camp all over Colorado. The carpeted ceiling makes it feel finished, and the tinted windows give us privacy. I added a roof rack for our kayaks and it handles the weight no problem.

Transformed my Tundra into a mobile workshop
I'm a contractor and needed secure storage for tools. This shell locks tight and keeps everything dry on jobsites. The dome light provision was easy to wire, and now I can work in the bed after dark. Highly recommend for work trucks.

Looks factory from Toyota
My wife said it looks like it came that way from the dealership. The silver sky metallic paint is a dead-on match and the flush mounting makes it look integrated. I get compliments every time I park.

Good to know

Common Questions About Your Tundra Camper Top

Yes — we manufacture shells for every Tundra generation from 2000 to current models. You'll need to specify your model year and bed length (5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, or 8.1-foot) when ordering. Each shell is molded to match your exact bed dimensions and mounting points.

If you're unsure about your bed length, measure from the inside of the bulkhead to the inside of the tailgate. Our customer service team can confirm fitment with your VIN.

Weight varies by bed length. Short bed shells weigh approximately 180 pounds, standard bed shells around 200 pounds, and long bed shells near 220 pounds.

Two adults can lift and install the shell, but we recommend having a third person to guide alignment during mounting. Some customers use an engine hoist or gantry for solo installation.

We offer factory paint matching for all Toyota color codes at the time of order. Submit your paint code or VIN and we'll spray your shell to match before shipping. This ensures proper surface prep, primer, and clear coat application.

If you prefer to paint it yourself, we can ship the shell in primer-gray gel coat. Use automotive-grade paint and follow standard fiberglass prep procedures for best results.

Our shells are weather-resistant with properly installed EPDM seals and door gaskets. The fiberglass structure itself is waterproof, and we seal all seams during manufacturing.

Occasional mist or condensation can occur in extreme temperature swings, which is normal for any camper shell. Ensure all clamps are tightened to spec and seals are clean for best performance. The included weather stripping creates a tight seal against your bed rail when installed correctly.

Yes — the roof is reinforced to support aftermarket roof racks, crossbars, and rooftop tents. We offer optional Yakima or Thule track systems installed at the factory, or you can add universal crossbars using our mounting hardware kit.

Roof load capacity is 200 pounds dynamic (driving) and 600 pounds static (parked). Always distribute weight evenly and follow rack manufacturer guidelines.

Installation is a two-person job that takes about 45 minutes. Our flush-mount clamp system requires no drilling — clamps grip the bed rail and bolt through existing stake pocket holes.

You'll need basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and a ladder or step stool. We include detailed instructions, all mounting hardware, and weather stripping pre-cut to length. Some customers choose professional installation through our dealer network.

We back the fiberglass structure with a limited lifetime warranty against cracking, delamination, and manufacturing defects. Paint finish, windows, locks, and moving parts carry a three-year warranty from date of purchase.

Warranty registration is automatic at time of sale. Keep your purchase receipt for service claims. Coverage includes material and labor for defects but excludes damage from accidents, misuse, or improper installation.
